Here Come the Enhanced E-Books

At the outset, e-books started out as little more than digital words on digital paper. But as many predicted would happen, the e-book boom has allowed the e-book to come into its own as a distinct medium.

The latest incarnation of this new medium is in the form of “enhanced e-books” — e-books that include not just text on a background, but also audio, high-resolution, dynamic rotating images that respond to multi-touch, and even digital 3D viewing.
