CourseSmart Brings Digital to a Truly Global Marketplace
It’s great to talk about the international reach of digital publishing in terms of its reach to Europe and the hotbeds of technology in Asia, but not much is often discussed about the state of digital publishing in South America, Africa, and the Middle East. CourseSmart announced that it is working to bring its digital textbook platform to some of the locales that don’t receive as much attention in the world of digital publishing.
With a successful expansion into Europe earlier this year, CourseSmart is setting its sights on some as of yet untapped markets, namely in some of the seventy countries the platform is now able to serve. The announced expansion will include Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Cyprus, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Palestinian Territories, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Yemen in the Middle East, and Algeria, Botswana, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Namibia, South Africa, Tunisia, Zimbabwe in Africa.
“CourseSmart’s expansion into new territories reflects the international demand for the eTextbook platform that we have experienced,” said Fionnuala Duggan, Managing Director of CourseSmart International, in a press release. “It will provide instructors in all the participating countries with full access to the digital samples, and our institutional and student ecommerce offering will also be available.”
Founded in 2007, CourseSmart is one of the world’s largest distributors of digital textbooks for a variety of courses and grade levels.
