Sales Director

Location: Washington, DC area, USA

Salary Range: Market competitive OTE of $200k. Salary and sales commissions.
Territory: Focus on Civilian (non DOD) federal government

Data Conversion Laboratory, Inc. (DCL) has an immediate opening for an experienced Sales Director to drive the growth of our electronic document conversion services and solutions. The individual selected for this role will be responsible for winning new clients and increasing business opportunities with existing customers in an individual territory, reporting to the CEO. Our services and solutions are setting new standards in advanced automated document conversion.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the sales process from introduction to delivery
  • Deliver compelling customer presentations
  • Meet and exceed all goals and business measurements
  • Obtain new accounts and manage existing accounts
  • Identify key decision makers
  • Generate leads through cold calling, seminar presentations, meetings, trade shows and other lead generating activities
  • Manage the day to day customer needs
  • Assist with the negotiation of successful contracts
  • Work with partners to enhance sell through of products and services
  • Complete all required activities such as forecast reports, pipeline, CRM, expense reports, and weekly status reports on time

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of large enterprise solutions/SaaS sales experience
  • Demonstrated track record selling exceeding sales quotas
  • U.S. citizenship required due to customer contracts
  • Business-level knowledge of XML, DITA, CMS/ECM DITA, ebook and DTDs is preferred
  • Knowledge of digital and mobile publishing and applications
  • Driven, self-starting, independent, consultative sales professional
  • Bachelor’s degree and relevant sales and business experience
  • Strong passion, high energy and enthusiasm for growth
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently

Software Engineer

Role and Responsibilities

Data Conversion Laboratory (DCL) is seeking a full-time Software Engineer for its Queens, New York office. DCL converts client documents to standard formats, such as XML, SGML, and HTML. The Software Engineer works with project managers to develop programming specifications and then turns those specifications into working solutions. To do this, the Software Engineer:

  • Analyzes functional specifications and hand-tagged samples prepared by project managers or data analysts
  • Determines how to deliver required conversions
  • Customizes configuration of DCL mapping tools to reflect tagging requirements for specific projects
  • Identifies unique requirements and builds additional filters as needed
  • Delivers Proof-of-Concept and production samples to project managers or data analysts for evaluation
  • Tests conversions and iteratively refines based on input from DCL staff and customers
  • Sets up production environment required for each project
  • Works closely with project team and participates in all team meetings and decisions

Desired Skills & Experience

  • An undergraduate and/or graduate degree, or equivalent, in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Must have a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in Perl, or XSLT.
  • Familiarity with SGML/XML, HTML,VBA, and Electronic Publishing software are all a plus.
  • Working knowledge of XML standards such as DITA, eBook, NLM, DocBook or Military DTDs a plus.
  • Working knowledge of electronic data conversion business a plus.
  • US Citizenship is required due to contractual requirements for some projects.
