this ongoing project, DCL converts a wide variety of medical journals and
books from diverse publishers into SGML. There are separate DTDs for the
books and the journals; both are highly detailed and specific to the
medical publication industry. Journals originate in diverse electronic
formats and in paper. In addition to converting text, DCL scans and
integrates graphics in a variety of graphic formats, and generates
cross-references in accordance with detailed client specifications. At the
project's peak, DCL was processing 8,000 - 10,000 pages per week. |
