PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Harmonizer™ - because 50% of your data is redundant.

Harmonizer™ is DCL software to eliminate redundant content from document sets of any size. With Harmonizer™ DCL can objectively measure duplication, locate duplicate content (and “near duplicates”,) eliminate extraneous content, and harmonize text variations to your standard.

Graphic display of redundancy
Over 60% of this document set is potentially redundant - 39.25% with exact matches, and a further 21.59% with close matches

Harmonizer™ works with SGML, XML, HTML, Word RTF files, Framemaker MIF files, Interleaf ASCII, and many others. Designed to work with the largest document sets, it can update files, insert effectivity and conditional information and produce files suitable for direct loading to a Content Management System (CMS) or IETM.

Harmonizer™ helps clear the clutter in order to reduce costs, improve accuracy, and speed up turnaround.

Harmonizerhelps you to...

Objectively compute Return on Investment (ROI)- Harmonizer™ quantifies content reuse potential, letting you objectively estimate benefits from your new Content Management System (CMS), Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM), or other new document technology. It also dramatically reduces implementation costs, further improving ROI.

Combine “slightly different” document sets into one- An aircraft component manufacturer, or auto manufacturer, or anyone producing multiple document set versions for model variations, can use Harmonizer™ to easily combine them into a single document set. Harmonizer™ displays version similarities and differences, lets you select among them, and automatically inserts appropriate effectivity or selection tagging.

Reduce translation costs- Harmonizer™ finds duplicate content in advance, and even finds “slightly different” phrases, allowing you to easily harmonize variations early in the process. By reducing the amount of content you can significantly reducing translation costs.

Build your common text library- Documentation for a line of products often incorporates similar information repetitively across the line - parts, maintenance and operating procedures, and so on; a pharmaceutical manufacturer often puts the same warning in many product information inserts; financial documents use similar paragraphs in many different places. Harmonizer™ finds repetitive phrasing, and variations, so that you can decide upfront on best practices, and quickly build your text library.

"Most document collections we analyzed showed redundancies of at least 50%."

Improve Document Quality - Harmonizer™ finds unintended differences in text phrasing, spelling, and punctuation; often finding errors that had been buried deeply in a document for many years.
