Since the FDA mandate that all package labeling for prescription pharmaceuticals be converted to XML, we have utilized the Structured Product Labeling (SPL) Specification to convert thousands of labels for more than 150 companies. As this mandate expands to apply to additional medical related products, DCL is well-positioned as we have a specific group dedicated solely to this work.
The FDA is now requiring that pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributors report their distributions of drug samples under the Drug Sample Transparency Act (ACA 6004) specification. Like SPL, the reporting is done using XML and through the FDA's Electronic Submissions Gateway. DCL can review your ACA 6004 data on the distributions, and either convert it to XML as is or, as with SPL, provide a workbook for you to enter the data. You can then either submit the XML through the gateway or have us submit it for you. Standard Response Packages provide the means for companies to respond to letter and emails from consumers and health professionals regarding product usage. As this is a regulated industry, these responses must be carefully worded and reviewed. DCL's data harmonization software eliminates duplication and identifies near-duplicates in archives of letters, allowing experts to create a standardized response system for future letters.
